The Playhouse Artistic Policy

The purpose of the Artistic Policy is to place the Arts at the heart of our social, economic and creative life. Like all policies within The Playhouse, our Artistic Policy needs to link into our four core values which are:

• COMMUNITY - Belonging @ The Playhouse

• CREATIVITY - Imagine That

• QUALITY - Giving of our Best

• SUSTAINABILITY - Here for Good

These values describe who we are, what we stand for and how we function, and our Artistic Policy more than most, will reflect these core values to the wider community, as our theatre is the very public face of what we do.

The Playhouse Artistic Policy is committed to:

• Producing Works that resonate with audiences locally and globally
• Creating theatre and events that promote community cohesion
• Engaging with our citizens and communities through Arts Education Programmes

• Preserving The Playhouse as one of the most dynamic theatres and arts centres in Ireland
• Commissioning New Works by emerging and established playwrights
• Producing innovative theatre which pushes the boundaries in relation to what can be done on (and off) stage

• Producing classic and contemporary world theatre
• Producing quality theatre that we can be proud of

• Producing popular theatre that attracts larger audiences which helps support non-commercial community theatre and social issue theatre productions
