Sole Purpose Productions in association with The Drink Think Project presents A Wee Taste A play on underage drinking Wednesday 17th October 2012 8pm

by Patricia Byrne

Directed by Shauna Kelpie

After a hugely successful tour last year this dynamic play returns especially to stage performances for parents. The story explores the issue of underage drinking through the eyes of Jenni, a thirteen year old, who wants to be like everyone else. Her mother notices a change in Jenni's behaviour and feels powerless to do anything about it. A glass of wine helps. Suddenly everything changes. Featuring gripping performances by local actors Carmel McCafferty and Gemma Walker, and stunning direction by Shauna Kelpie.

Free- Booking is essential

Performance Extras

The play was developed in consultation with the Northlands Centre, The Drink Think Project, Divert and Community Direct. This project is supported by The Drinkaware Trust. Sole Purpose Productions is a professional theatre company based in The Playhouse. It uses the discourse of imagination to investigate social and public issues.

There will be a reception in The Plaza at 7.30pm where there will be tea/coffee, biscuits and delicious alcohol free cocktails served up especially for you!

"An outstanding performance which was thoroughly enjoyed by all in the audience. The script and performance struck home in a way that was entertaining, educational and above all believable. Schools need more work of this quality!" Damien Clarke, Pastoral Coordinator, St Patrick's College, Maghera
