ARTIVIST TOOLKIT DEEP DIVE INTO CLIMATE ACTION AND THE CIRCULAR ECONOMY

26th September 2023 ~ 29th September 2023
Time: 10:00 to 17:00pm daily

Join Creativity & Change and the Artitude: Climate, Culture & Circularity Project for a 3 day Deep Dive into artivism and climate action.

The Playhouse's Artitude: Climate, Culture & Circularity project is excited to partner with Claire and Helen from Creativity & Change MTU Crawford College of Art & Design for a three-day Deep Dive from the 26th to 28th September 2023.

This Deep Dive is aimed at facilitators, youth workers, community workers, artists and anyone interested in working with groups and communities to explore climate action and the circular economy using creative tools and art action.

Over three days, we will align our heads, hearts and hands to consider our roles in climate action, imagine alternatives and build an artivist's toolkit of art actions to utilise in community projects and take our voices to the masses. The workshop will culminate with a public showcase at The Playhouse.

Creativity & Change is a learning programme based at Crawford College of Art & Design, MTU, Cork City and funded by Irish Aid. The programme promotes creative Global Citizenship Education for adults, young people and families with training courses, events and an accredited post-graduate course. Through exploring non-formal, arts-based practices that connect heads, hearts and hands, participants find opportunities to learn about and take action on global justice issues and develop skills to nurture fellow changemakers. Creativity & Change believes in the power of community and cultivates meaningful connections with individuals, groups and organisations at local, national and global levels.

The Playhouse's Artitude: Climate, Culture & Circularity project is an exciting community engagement project grounded in the circular economy, that uses the arts and creative practice to encourage behaviour change and challenge attitudes to waste, consumption and climate action. The project is led by The Playhouse in partnership with Zero Waste Northwest, Northern Ireland Resources Network, Queens University Belfast and Derry City and Strabane District Council.
