In July 2023 The Playhouse’s Artitude: Climate, Culture & Circularity project and Anann’s Arch delivered a jam packed week of creative fun for 9-12 year olds, centred around climate action and care for the beautiful world around us.
Over 5 days, young people took part in a range of activities designed to ignite imaginations and develop creative skills. They created sustainable art and learned how to grow and forage for tools and materials.
Workshops included:
Nature mono-printing; Climate activism & social awareness; Dance & drama; Nature & foraging walks; Beach clean-up; Found object sculpture; Expressive painting; Seed & soil exploration…and much more!
The Playhouse Artitude: Climate, Culture & Circularity Project is an exciting community engagement project grounded in the circular economy, that will use the arts and creative practice to encourage behaviour change and challenge attitudes to waste, consumption and climate action.
The Playhouse will work with partners Zero Waste Northwest, Northern Ireland Resources Network, Queens University Belfast and Derry City and Strabane District Council to co-ordinate and deliver a programme of creative activities over the next 18 months.
