An exciting theatre and circus show performed by young homeless parents from The Shepherd's View Young Parents Project was performed at The Playhouse.
Based upon real life experiences, this powerful and unique performance will take the audience on a journey using words, movement and a wide range of circus skills.
A unique production, ‘On The Move’ staring the young people themselves, will offer them a safe creative space to share their stories, emotions and display an array of circus skills including juggling, tight rope walking unicycle riding, stilt walking to name a few.
A production created and directed by The Playhouse and In Your Space Circus, ‘On the Move’ was performend at The Playhouse on Saturday 8 December at 7pm.
“Amid the difficulties that young homeless parents face this performance will empower them to reflect and speak openly about the challenges they face every day.
It's also about letting their imaginations run away...to the circus of their dreams!” Community Relations officer at The Playhouse, Claire Heaney McKee said.
“This show is about combining theatre, one of our oldest storytelling traditions, with modern circus which gives life to our stories and allows us to dream together under one roof as well as the potential to reflect society as a mirror…asking different types of questions about the state of mankind, of humanity, of people and what are we doing here?”
An Exhibition will accompany the production in The Playhouse plaza from Friday 7 to Monday 10 December.
