Members of Benbradagh Resource Centre and The Willow Group displayed their work from completing their OCN in digital photography at The Playhouse this month.

The groups have accessed the Artskills project as part of The Playhouse's outreach programme. Benbradagh Resource Centre and The Willow Group are Day Centres' for adults with learning needs. Over the last ten months members, through the Artskills project, have had the opportunity to complete OCN'S in Digital Photography and CCEA Literacy in Essential Skills.

Participants have recently completed their OCN in Performance and will later in the month showcase three plays to a private audience that were adapted, devised and/or written during the course of the OCN. Artskills is a creative approaches to literacy project fundeded by The European Social Fund, Department of Employment and Learning, Arts Council of Northern Ireland & The Playhouse.

Artskills Project Co-ordinator Emmajane Logue said "This is the first time that the participants have been able to access accredited courses based in the community such as these.

"The participants have thoroughly enjoyed the courses to date and have really given 110% which is evident through the quality of the finished pieces. The work will be on display in Benbradagh Resource Centre for the remainder of the year.

"We would like to thank all the staff from Benbradagh Resource Centre and the Willow group for their assistance with the smooth running of the courses."
