Artskills in Ballykelly offers recognized qualification through the Arts
Open day July 3, 2014
The Playhouse Artskills project will launch several new OCNs in the arts at an Open Day in Ballykelly next month- including photography, web design, songwriting and even Knitting!
An award winning and innovative project that offers unique creative training, Artskills offers participants employer recognized qualifications through the arts.
This pioneering approach is an opportunity for participants to develop skills and interests, whilst engaging in meaningful, social and creative activity that will leads to OCN and CCEA qualifications.
The Playhouse Artskills ensures that all participants are given every chance to succeed - and that they are signposted towards additional training and opportunities to further develop skills in areas such as Film & Video, Creative Writing, Digital Photography, Web Design as well as Literacy and even Knitting and Songwriting.
The open day for the project has been announced just weeks after the project received the Claire's Award from the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure.
The open day for new recruits to the Artskills project will take place in CERES house in Ballykelly for the new course, which will start on Tuesday July 22 and runs three days weekly.
"The learning environment is relaxed, creative and supportive of participant needs" new Artskills Project Co-ordinator Liam Campbell said.
"It is particularly suited to those individuals who may not have thrived through more formal education. Expenses related to travel to and from the training, lunch and £100 completers' bonus are available - as is a weekly EMA payment for those eligible. So come along to this information and open day , and hear all about the project, ask questions and see examples of work".
The Artskills Project funded by the Department for Employment and Learning, the European Social Fund, and the Arts Council.
The information and open day on the Artskills project will be held on Thursday July 3 at CERES House, 3 Shackelton Drive, Ballykelly. All are welcome. Refreshments will be served.
