Wanted: John (Half-hanged) MacNaghten!

Playhouse Productions will be holding open auditions soon in a bid to cast a new play from the pen of local playwright Stan McGowan. ‘The Wood of The Crows' deals with the tragic events that led to the death of the young Prehen heiress Mary Ann Knox, by the hand of her much older lover John MacNaughten in the year 1761.
The play, set against the background of Georgian Ascendency Londonderry will be directed by the author and will be preformed at the Playhouse from 15th to Saturday 20th November to coincide with the 250th anniversary of the tragedy.

The auditions hopefully will determine who will play the following roles (ages are approximate)...
John MacNaghten- age 40 years
Andrew Knox- age 50 years
Honoria Knox- age 50 years
George Knox- age 22 years
Mary Ann Knox- age 17/18 years

Parts for 'The History Boys'

An unruly bunch of bright, funny sixth-form boys in pursuit of sex, sport and a place at university. A maverick English teacher at odds with the young and shrewd supply teacher. A headmaster obsessed with results and a history teacher who thinks he's a fool. In Alan Bennett's The History Boys, staffroom rivalry and the anarchy of adolescence provoke insistent questions about history and how you teach it; about education and its purpose.
