The Playhouse in partnership with the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland announces £1000 Aloysius fund for theatre.
You can secure £1000 funding and principal or supporting role in Chicago, the Musical. Open for candidates aged 16-50 who need financial support to follow their theatre dreams, the fund is open to anyone wanting to further their theatre careers, by fund accommodation or travel to auditions, expert singing, dancing or acting lessons, or help with higher education fees.
What's on offer:
There are 10 competitive places on offer. Each successful candidate will:
Compete for a Bursary of £1000 toward Music Theatre Education.
Receive intense training / rehearsal with a Professional Production team working toward a performance of Chicago, the Musical at The Playhouse.
Masterclasses and Conservatoire Entrance Audition workshop with Royal Conservatoire of Scotland team
A Theatre Credit with written reference from the Production team
To apply for an audition please submit two contrasting music theatre songs by dropbox or YouTube link to Stage Manager email firstname.lastname@example.org. Final auditions Saturday 17th of August.
IMPORTANT: Recording Details
Candidates must give an initial 20 second introduction stating name, age, experience and why they are applying.
Recordings must NOT be an amateur recording from a musical or any other gig.
AUDIO and VISUAL must be clear and acted directly to camera
The Playhouse will consider paying road travel costs for participation to some exceptional candidates for those who live 50 miles or more outside the city.
Chicago the Musical will open at The Playhouse November 26th and run for the week.
