A special night of discussion, poetry and t-shirt slogans for International Women's Day.
Local literary magazine SHIFT will hold this event in conjunction with Women Aloud NI, a project aiming to raise the profile of the women's writing scene in Northern Ireland.
A panel of local writers, poets and playwrights will discuss the challenges facing women writers will be on offer along with several poetry and short story readings, and ‘The Irony Board'- a place to put your words on your own t-shirt.
SHIFT will also launch the fourth edition of their magazine for new writers on the night. Submissions are now open for men and women writers wishing to contribute a piece to the publication. The theme is ‘Revolution' and the deadline is Sunday 14 February at 12 midnight.
Women Aloud NI 2016 is a 1-day initiative, a coordinated series of events will take place right across Northern Ireland. The events will involve women writers reading - and talking about their work - in bookshops, libraries and other venues.
The SHIFT event will include a panel discussion with poet Jenni Doherty from Little Acorns Bookstore and Guildhall Press, playwright Anne McMaster, and local performance poet Mel Bradley.
