Sunday January 30th, 2022 marks 50 years on from Bloody Sunday: a day carved into history, a day for many families that feels like just a moment ago.
The White Handkerchief is a major musical drama premiering live across the world on Bloody Sunday’s 50th Anniversary.
Book and Lyrics by Liam Campbell. Music by Brian O’Doherty. Design by Ryan Griffiths. Directed by Kieran Griffiths. Produced by the Playhouse.
The Playhouse will be creating a music theatre academy to train up those from the city who are strong music theatre performers and interested in world class training. This training will lead to them performing in the piece which will be broadcast live around the world. The Academy is a 9 month training program beginning in February. Registrations for the academy will be by Audition in December 2020.
From Saturday 23rd – Sunday 31st January 2021 we will be workshopping the musical in its draft form and will open up auditions for professional performers to take part in this paid opportunity. We will be seeking the city’s best musical theatre performers for a variety of roles.
