Fate and a couple of failed marriages have crashed two men together under the same roof in the Rossville Flats in the midst of The Troubles – in what can only be described as the mismatch of the century.
Set in the Rossville Flats in the Bogside in 1976, The Playhouse production of ‘The Bog Couple’ (inspired by Neil Simon’s The Odd Couple) is back by popular demand!
Following standing ovations and a sold out run at The Playhouse in February 2018, the laugh out loud comedy will return to a bigger stage at The Millennium Forum for Spring 2019.
Starring local actors Pat Lynch and Gerry Doherty, The Playhouse production introduces us to Oscar Meenan and Felix Young –both “Bogside men” – one a Catholic and one a Protestant; one is an easy-going, slob and one an obsessive perfectionist preoccupied with neatness.
Although old and close friends, when living together, soon they are behaving more like a long-suffering, incompatible married couple, showing why their own respective wives have clearly had enough of them.
"Terrific ...a riotous gag-fest and dramatically funny" Dave Duggan, headstuff.org
