One-Act City of Derry Drama Festival Thursday 21st November 2013 to Saturday 23rd November 2013 7.30pm

Drama, challenge and a unique chance to enjoy eight very different plays over three nights; this is a celebration of the joy of amateur production! Local teams and drama groups, hailing from any part of Ireland, will each present a one -act play and receive a short public adjudication on their performance.

The Festival is affiliated to both the Association of Ulster Drama Festivals and the Amateur Drama Council of Ireland, so competing groups can qualify for both Ulster and All-Ireland Finals.

Clarence Players are an experienced Belfast based company and are former UK title holders. They have represented Northern Ireland on numerous occasions.

Two sisters have promised their now deceased mother that they will always look out for each other. Although seldom in accord they are both determined to keep their "pinky promise".

Two Bridges Theatre Company started in Derry in 1997 and were the resident drama group at the Waterside Theatre from 2002-2008. They took part in the All Ireland Festival Circuit from 2004-2008, twice reaching the Confined Finals This is their first festival run for five years and their first time on the One Act Circuit.

Set at a graveside during a funeral. As three men pay their respects they jockey for importance in the life of a charismatic woman.

Haulbowline Theatre Company are attached to the Irish Navel Base on Haulbowline island in Cork harbour which is also the location of their own little theatre and this year they celebrate their 50th Anniversary!

In New Orleans, Bertha is a prostitute on the verge of being evicted from a low class bordello. In a series of delusions she revisits her past while slipping towards disease and death. A vintage snapshot by America's most influential 20th century playwright.

Theatre 3 are an experienced group with a very distinguished track record. They have won numerous awards at Festivals on both sides of the border.
