Brona Jackson Dance Co. presents ‘Inspirations from Oz', a celebration showcase event, staring over 70 students from BJDC's innovative Community Engagement Programme. Students will present their original choreographies based on classic and modern tales from Oz including, The Wizard of Oz (1939), The Wiz (1978) and Wicked (2003) and many more. Expect to see some of the legendary characters from Oz, as well as the more underappreciated ones, reinterpreted through contemporary, ballet, hip hop, jazz, jive, tap and physical theatre.
This year has been a truly fantastic year for the BJDC dance family, taking part in a range of performance events across the country. However for most of our students, aged 3-16, it will be their first performance in a professional theatre context. Please come support theses fantastically talented young dancers and appreciate all the hard work they have put in during their Spring/Summer semester.
Inspiring classes. Engaging performances. Innovative choreography.
Founded by acclaimed dance artist Brona Jackson, BJDC's innovative dance education programme develops all aspects of the creative thinking dancer by providing access to the high quality performance platforms, trips to professional dance performance, as well as sound technical instruction in a range of foundational styles, though an inclusive and creative approach, and always supported through consistent evaluation and reflection.
