The Big Tickle presents David O'Doherty Friday 2nd September 2011 8pm

David O'Doherty is the stage name of David O'Doherty: comedian, writer and 1990 East Leinster under 14s triple jump bronze medallist. In receiving The Award (formerly The Perrier Award) at the 2008 Edinburgh Festival, he joined a list of former winners that includes Dylan Moran, Steve Coogan and The League of Gentlemen. He is the author of several books, including co-writing the recent bestselling 100 Facts About Pandas and the forthcoming 100 Facts About Sharks.

David has toured his own solo shows around the world and performed alongside comedians such as Demetri Martin, Rich Hall and Flight of the Conchords. He recently hosted the BBC's Nevermind The Buzzcocks for the first time.

His last stand up show Somewhere Over the David O'Doherty received 5 star reviews at the Edinburgh Fringe and dealt with, among other things, bicycles, Shakira and the idea of happiness. This year he returns to Edinburgh with David O'Doherty is Looking Up and a theatre show about Ireland's sixth or seventh greatest Antarctic explorer, Rory Sheridan's Tales of the Antarctica.
