Notice to Patrons and those who use our building

As each day passes there is an escalation on reported cases of the coronavirus in our country. As we gather large groups of people together we have a responsibility to inform you of our position.

In light of the developing situation, our building will close to the public for the next two weeks. Our Programme of events here at The Playhouse during that time will now be cancelled. We will seek to reschedule as many of these events as possible in the coming months. Our box office will be in touch with patrons who have already booked for shows to offer a refund or notify them of alternative dates as soon as they become available. Customers can also contact our box office on (028)71268027 or email boxoffice@derryplayhouse.co.uk over the next two weeks.

We will continue to monitor the situation and follow advice on the way forward for the rest of our Spring programme.

We continue to ask for everyone to look after themselves and each other.

Directed by Jamie Lloyd

James McAvoy (X-Men, Atonement) returns to the stage in an inventive new adaptation of Cyrano de Bergerac, broadcast live to cinemas from the West End in London.

Fierce with a pen and notorious in combat, Cyrano almost has it all - if only he could win the heart of his true love Roxane. There’s just one big problem: he has a nose as huge as his heart. Will a society engulfed by narcissism get the better of Cyrano - or can his mastery of language set Roxane’s world alight?

Edmond Rostand’s masterwork is adapted by Martin Crimp, with direction by Jamie Lloyd (Betrayal). This classic play will be brought to life with linguistic ingenuity to celebrate Cyrano’s powerful and resonant resistance against overwhelming odds.

Encore Screening Cert: 15

Tickets £12 (Includes £1 development contribution)
