Drama programme at UU Magee presents Arts & Health Seminar Thursday 28th November 2019 10 am to 4 pm

A day-long seminar on Arts & Health by students and lecturers from the Drama programme at Ulster University Magee.

This Arts and Health seminar is part of a programme of events being held throughout the UK  - known as the Alternative University movement - in support of UCU strike action against pension cuts, real wage cuts, gender and minority pay disparity, and casualisation in the HE sector. 79% of staff at 56 UK universities are taking strike action, which indicates the severity of the issues.

Drama staff and students will discuss their work on Performance and Health, sharing findings from research and practice with community partners in Disability Arts; nursing traing and medical simulation; arts for older people and intergenerational community arts; Dramatherapy; and Theatre in Health Education.

Over the last few months, they have been working with artists and organisations throughout Northern Ireland and Donegal and look forward to sharing what they have learned, with anyone who is interested in the field of Arts and Health.

All are welcome. Guests are welcome to attend for all or part of the day, as they see fit.
