Throughout history the LGBTQIA+ community has exemplified what it is to be creative. In times and places where it was (and still is) not possible to be open as ones own true identity the LGBTQIA+ community has used the arts as a way to express that identity, that uniqueness, indeed even that queerness.
From the queer creatives of the ancient world to modern day, their artistic and creative works have had a profound effect upon the world in which we live.
This creative and artistic legacy links all members of the LGBTQIA+ Community together in a shared culture which we have created ourselves.
It is in this ethos, that as part of LGBTQIA+ Awareness week we will be showcasing and celebrating the talents of queer creatives from the Foyle area.
