The Playhouse's famous annual C.A.F., now one of the longest running festivals of its type in N. Ireland, is back again with a unique opportunity for children aged 4 – 14 years old to get an early introduction to the arts. The Playhouse will provide a two-week programme of creative workshops led by professional artists. Such an opportunity will give children the experience of a wide range of creative activities, which will stimulate their mind, expand their skills and introduce them to the key components of art, dance and performance. The theme of this years Childrenʼs Art Festival is Wake-Up! With so much regeneration and restoration going on in our local area and throughout Ireland it is important to educate the children about the importance and significance of reviving, renewing and energising our towns and buildings. During the two-week festival the children will have lots of fun and will gain new skills in contemporary dance, movement, drawing, painting, combined media, improvising and acting. The children will create final showcases, which will be performed and exhibited at the end of the two-week programme.
The Children’s Art Festival programme is divided into 3 programmes for specific age groups.
