The Playhouse Youth Art Project Street Talk seeks filmmaker to create a short film

Posted on: 28th October 2014

The Playhouse has been working with the PSNI since 2012 to develop youth diversionary projects, using participatory, creative arts techniques (such as Graffiti Art, Music / DJing) in Derry, Limavady, Strabane & Magherafelt to divert young people from anti-social behaviour.

We wish to hire a free-lance filmmaker to script, storyboard, film and edit a short film of approximately 3 - 6 minutes in length in collaboration with the project stakeholders including the young people, the PSNI and the Playhouse Project Coordinator.

The content will be used by the PSNI in "hard to reach" youth clubs where the PSNI feel they are unable to attend in person. The film aims to illustrate and explore a typical criminal incident involving a young person to create an educational resource that youth workers (who have undergone training provided by PSNI) can use to open up a conversation with young people around issues of criminality.
