The Playhouse's core creative literacy project has unveiled a new private computer suite in the Artillery Street building.
Funded by the Department of Employment and Learning, the suite will be an invaluable resource for Artskills learners who partake in The Playhouse's innovative approach to literacy training, which uses the arts as an alternative medium to develop literacy skills.
Artskills is a creative approaches to literacy project funded by The European Social Fund, Department of Employment and Learning, Arts Council of Northern Ireland & The Playhouse.
"The Playhouse provides a neutral, creative, non-formal and safe learning environment that attracts individuals who have not achieved their full potential through formal educational systems" Emmajane Logue, Artskills project co-ordinator said.
"This new suite will help us to fully maximise the alternative arts-based training that we deliver."
"As an accredited centre, these resources and technology are key to allowing, in a very practical way, our participants to develop skills and interests whilst engaging in meaningful, social and creative activity."
