Posted on: 16th June 2015

A project helping people with learning disabilities to stay safe online has been showcased at The Playhouse.

A special event and interactive discussion for Mencap in Northern Ireland's LiveNet Project was held in The Playhouse yesterday.

The LiveNet project enables children and adults with a learning disability and their carers to use ICT to improve their health and wellbeing, gain access to information, connect with their community and help achieve their full potential.

As part of the project The Playhouse facilitated the delivery of several performance realisation OCN under the guidance of facilitator Pamela Brown.

Held as part of this year's Learning Disability Week , the event included live forum theatre, an exhibition, a film screening and a presentation of qualifications and certificates, including The Playhouse's own employability certificate.
The Playhouse Community Relations officer Liam Campbell also hosted an interactive discussion on themes raised by the project.
