Playhouse announces new courses in Photography, Painting and Musical Theatre!

The Playhouse has announced new courses in Photography, Painting and Musical Theatre this Autumn!
The accredited evening courses for adults and will start this month and run for ten weeks.
Accredited through Open College Network at Level 2, evening class in Digital Photography and Printmaking Process will start on Tuesday September 16 and run every Tuesday from 6-9pm. Participants will have the opportunity to learn the features of their digital camera, understand composition including exposure, shutter speed, aperture and lighting, as well as gaining a basic understanding of Photoshop.
Introduction to Musical Theatre will begin in the same week, accredited through Open College Network at Level 1 and run every Wednesday from 6-9pm, starting on Wednesday September 17. Participants will learn elements of musical theatre, performance, technical requirements and production, and participate as a performer or a member of the technical team in a musical theatre production.
And finally OCN Level 2 Painting Techniques will begin on Thursday September 18. The classes, which will run every Thursday from 6-9pm, will help participants produce practical painting work, carry out research and use sketchbooks to show development of ideas and understand colour theory and mixing.
The cost for each of these classes, which are run in partnership with North West Regional College, is £45 (concessionary) and £60 (full Price). This cost includes registration fees for Open College Network to obtain qualification.
"The Playhouse was the first Art Centre in Northern Ireland to gain Open College Network (OCN) accredited centre status in 1997, and each year we help more than 500 people achieve OCN qualifications in the arts" Siuan O'Doherty, head of education at The Playhouse said.
