The Playhouse's First Call Youth Theatre opens next week!

First Call Youth Theatre at The Playhouse will start their new Autumn Programme.
Every Tuesday from 7 to 9pm this exciting free twenty week course offers young people the first step to professional theatre.
First Call is open to anyone aged between 16 and 25 years who are keen to use practical learning in acting and performance, working towards a theatre production.
Members of the group will learn to improve existing theatre skills and develop new ones working within a fun and respectful learning environment.
The workshops will work on performing monologues and scenes using established and new scripts resulting in a final public showcase on the Playhouse stage.
In its tenth year this course has proven to lead participants on to further academic study or professional employment in the arts.
"For those with big ambitions and little curiosities about drama and theatre, this is the perfect course to introduce you to new acting skills in the inspiring surrounds of the city's leading professional theatre. Under the direction of Tutor Shauna Kelpie, this course will be your first step into theatre, leading to an accredited qualification" Edel Murphy at The Playhouse said.
The OCN Level 3 is accredited by The Open College Network through the North West Regional College. The free theatre workshops will run every Tuesday for twenty weeks from Tuesday October 7 from 7pm - 9pm.
