The 2017 Derry Jazz Festival Opens Tonight for a Weekend of Top Entertainment!

Our first event kicking things off is "A Night with O'Day - Jezebel of Jazz."

CLUB CABARET presents A Night with O'Day - Jezebel of Jazz at the Playhouse Theatre, Derry, on Thursday 27 April at 8pm, as part of the City of Derry Jazz Festival 2017.

Vocalists Joan Talbot and Ursula McHugh will take you on a mesmerising and magical journey celebrating the Anita O'Day Story (1919 - 2006), through narrative and song (solo and duet), spanning the Chicago singer's six decades. Classics such as Let Me Off Up Town, Honeysuckle Rose and Sweet Georgia Brown, to name a few, are interspersed with the"High Times, Hard Times'' of one the last instantly recognisable iconic Jazz Divas.

Accompanied by Dee Doherty (Musical Arranger and Piano), John Somers (Jazz Guitar), Peter Doherty (Double Bass), Mark Bradley (Trumpet), and Michael Kielty (Drums).
"You don't need to be a Jazz fan to dig Anita O'Day!" Calvin Wilson (STL Post)

Tickets £8.00. For more information, please see: www.facebook.com/ClubCabaretDerry
