Can you sing, dance or are you an actor? If you are, then the Alley Theatre Strabane invites you to join an intensive Easter theatre programme.
Run in partnership with The Playhouse Derry~Londonderry, the course offers people aged 16 and upwards an opportunity to work in professional theatre space and to gain an accreditation through the Open College Network. The programme is taking place over the Easter holiday period and from 10:30am-3pm each day from Thursday 2 to Saturday 11 April this programme will run during the day for seven days, working towards a musical showcase on stage in the Alley Theatre.
Tutor Ryan Quinn, who has an extensive musical theatre background, said "I encourage everyone of any age to get up and perform, through theatre or songs from the old classic musicals or the new West End blockbusters. This will be a jam packed week of learning around the three main disciplines of musical theatre- drama, dance and voice."
Edel Murphy education officer The Playhouse encouraged final enrolments for the course this week. She said "This will be a fast and fun musical theatre programme will stage a show in just seven days and offer an Open College Network accreditation in Performance. Already signing up for the challenge include students, those retired from employment and those seeking to gain professional development for youth work during the Easter holidays."
