Ground breaking film wins major award.

A documentary film, which saw its Irish premiere in The Playhouse Theatre for ICAN, has won a major award.
Acting Together on the World Stage, which was premiered as part of International Culture Arts Network 2011 events, has been recognized at The Telly Awards in America.
Less than 10 percent of the 13,000 Telly entrants, coming from all 50 states and numerous other countries, won honors. The Telly Award is the best known and most prestigious professional video industry award.
Producer Cynthia Cohen of Brandeis University, Massachusetts and contributor Dijana Milosevic of DAH Theatre Serbia were artists in residence with The Playhouse International Arts Network (ICAN) in September 2011.
They co-facilitated a master class in the relationship between the arts and peace building, and as part of events the ground-breaking film was premiered.
Acting Together on the World Stage shows courageous artists working in conflict regions Serbia, Uganda, Sri Lanka, Israel, Palestine, Argentina, Peru, India, Cambodia, and Australia and describes exemplary peace building performances and tools for the creative transformation of violence.
"I would like to sincerely congratulate everyone in the production team on this tremendous honor, including Theatre Without Borders, Brandeis University's Peacebuilding and the Arts program, and filmmaker Allison Lund" Pauline Ross at The Playhouse said.
"We were delighted to strengthen our ties with this vital project by inviting Cynthia Cohen and Dijana Milosevic to undertake their residency here.
"The Acting Together on the World Stage project is yielding rich case studies, theoretical frameworks, and recommendations to policymakers to legitimate and strengthen the emerging field of peacebuilding performance, and very much compliments the extensive arts and peace building work already in action at The Playhouse, through both ICAN and the exceptional work of Theatre of Witness project."
