POST SHOW DISCUSSION & WORKSHOP AFTER THURSDAY MATINEE
The National Theatre are coming to The Playhouse for 'My Country.' This is the only theatre in all of Ireland you will be able to see this production. There is a special matinee on Thursday the 6th of April and we are very excited to announce a very special workshop for school groups with Rosemary McKenna.
Rosemary McKenna, the Associate Director for My Country, is available to workshop school groups as part of the Thursday Matinee offering to schools. This would be show, post-show discussion and workshop. A unique opportunity to get a real insight into the how the show came together and what it's like to work at the cutting edge of modern contemporary theatre.
Rosemary McKenna studied at Trinity College Dublin, and trained as a director on the Rough Magic SEEDS programme. She is an Associate Director for Actors Touring Company. Staff directing at the National Theatre includes The Red Barn, The Deep Blue Sea and Here We Go. As a director, her work includes Apollonia at the Project Arts Centre for the Dublin Theatre Festival; Shellshock at the Town Hall Theatre; Snow Angels and Way to Heaven (nominated as Best Director at the Irish Times Theatre Awards) at Project Arts Centre; Catch of the Day for the Big House Festival; Anna in Between for the Dublin Fringe Festival; Heroin(e) for Breakfast at Smock Alley Theatre; Bedbound at the New Theatre and Samuel Beckett Theatre; and The Importance of Being Earnest at the Samuel Beckett Theatre. As associate director her work includes Winter Solstice at The Orange tree, Martyr at the Unicorn and on UK tour; and The Events at New York Theatre Workshop.
