Sponsored by Partridge Peartree, the longest running Children's Arts Festival in Northern Ireland has started with an explosion of laughter, fun, and creativity this week at The Playhouse.
Excited Tots, Children, and Teens started The Playhouse Children's and Youth Arts Festival on Monday July 18 by meeting their facilitators and receiving their special Arts Festival t-shirt, very kindly provided by Partridge Peartree.
For many years, the local promotions company has loyally and steadfastly supported the eagerly awaited festival, which offers children and teens aged 4-15 two fantastic weeks of workshops in Drama, Visual Arts, Dance, Illusion Arts, Musical Theatre, Comedy, Animation, Djing, and much more, all lead by our friendly, professional home-grown Artists.
The festival will finish with a spectacular showcase of drama, dance, music, comedy and magic tricks on Friday July 29, when holding with long-standing tradition, The Playhouse will also celebrate its 19th Birthday.
One of the City Calendar's highlights, The Playhouse Children's Arts Festival, is the longest running Children's Arts Festival in Northern Ireland.
"Apart from having the opportunity to work with our cities finest Artists, and engaging in all areas of Arts, the Playhouse Children's Arts Festival is also renowned for it's rapturous atmosphere and it is always noted by parents, just how quickly new and lasting friendships form, and the notable improvement in social skills, are more of the many reasons, this festival has a huge following" festival co-ordinator Jane McCarter said.
"We're also delighted to have Partridge Peartree supporting us again this year. For several years, they have provided the t-shirts which have become an iconic part of the festival, and it's wonderful to see a local business faithfully supporting a local community event."
Marc Desmond of Partridge Peartree said: "We're thrilled to lend our support to The Playhouse Children's and Youth Arts Festival again this year."
"It's been lovely to see our t-shirts being worn by so many smiling happy children every year, and to be involved in one of the city's favourite summer events!"
