The Playhouse Big Tickle comedy festival returns with a bang this month with another outstanding line-up of comedians and comedy events.
The finest of the UK and Ireland's stand up comedians, including John Cooper Clarke, Jason Byrne, Colin Murphy, Phil Nichol and Neil Delamere, will take to The Playhouse stage, as well as many home-grown comedy productions, for an action packed month of farce and fun.
The hilarious 'Bouncers' by John Godber will start the comedy rolling from Tuesday September 7 to Thursday September 9. Fresh from touring Northern Irish comedy circuits, four high energy A-Level students play over twenty different characters on one very noisy night on the town.Award-winning comedian and actor Phil Nichol will bring some truly unique theatrical jazz silliness with his critically-acclaimed comedy show 'Welcome to Crazytown' on Friday, September 10, at 8pm.
He will be quickly followed by one of today's top Northern Irish comedians, the accomplished Colin Murphy, who will be bringing his topical satire and edgy wit on Saturday, September 11 at 8pm.Oscar-nominated playwright Dave Duggan and resident Theatre Company at The Playhouse, Lilliput Theatre Company - Northern Ireland's only professional theatre company for adults with learning difficulties - will join forces on Wednesday September 15 at 10.30am and Thursday September 16 at 10.30am and 8pm with theatrical comedy 'Dr Watt's Squeeze Box'.
Punk Poet Extraordinaire, the Bard of Salford, John Cooper Clarke will return to The Playhouse on Friday September 17 at 8pm, followed by two nights of quick-fire banter and hilarious storytelling by one of the most in-demand comedians on Irish television, Neil Delamere, on Thursday, September 23 and Friday, September 24 at 8pm.
