Posted on: 30th July 2014

The Playhouse and The Alley Theatre and Conference Centre in association with Black Air Theatre Group completed an Artskills Summer Scheme in Theatre and Performance Skills. This project took place in the Alley Theatre and Conference Centre, Strabane from 30th June to 11th July.

Within this two-week workshop period the participants worked together towards a fully staged performance of Little Shop of Horrors-complete with full set/props, costumes and a live band, the cast also took the show into the local community and performed excerpts in Melrose Day Centre for an audience of residents.

The group of young people were aged between 14-24 and from the Strabane Neighbourhood Renewal Area, who have an interest in performing arts. Participants completed an Open College Network Qualification in Performance Level 1 or 2, depending on experience.

This Project is kindly funded by the Department for Social Development. This is a Playhouse, Derry Project in partnership with The Alley Theatre Strabane
