YouCAN
YouCAN(Youth Culture Arts Network) is an international and cross border arts network that provides training and networking opportunities to organisations that work with young people through the medium of arts.

YouCAN has over 120 members including groups and individuals  with a youth focus in drama, visual arts, creative writing, music, dance and multimedia. YouCAN supports cross-border exchanges and offers innovative training to members from artists and practitioners internationally recognised in their fields.

YouCAN has delivered training to a range of members working with young people in different settings including youth workers in interface areas of Northern Ireland, arts centres, galleries, youth centres; prison officers, health and education practitioners, artists and funding advisory bodies.

Annual Conference
YouCAN host and annual international conference that addresses issues relevant to developing a peace-process using arts as a tool. The aim is to look at the arts from an international perspective and to discuss its relationship to peace, understanding and social cohesion.

Speakers have travelled to Ireland for the conference from all over the world from areas with their own cultural and political relevance including Jordan, Palestine, Canada, the United States, Sweden, UK, El Salvador, Argentina and Cambodia. Each has presented case-studies from within their own cultural context in order to offer perspectives on conflict resolution and peace building amongst young people through participation in arts activity.

Training for Trainers
The international arts training programme provides opportunities for youth and community qworkers to pass on what they learn and experience to the young people that they work with. Participants involved in our two day training programmes learn about cultural diversity, tolerance and acceptance, all of which promote understanding and respect. Training programmes have been delivered by national and international practitioners in visual arts, creative writing, dance, drama, multimedia and arts management.

Youth Arts Programmes
YouCAN also delivers creative arts training for youth aged 15-18 years from schools, youth groups and organisations both sides of the border. Training delivered includes graphic design, desk top video, animation, drama, visual arts, urban dance and music production.
YouCAN has recently delivered an innovative photographic project that involved over 100 young people. Secrets is an online art exhibition and was created by young photographers using over 250 photographic images.
