UK première of this highly acclaimed play set during the 1689 Siege of Derry.
A Yorkshire cobbler awaits execution after being captured trying to gain entry into the besieged city disguised as a woman... An embittered aristocrat, the cobbler's rival in love, dines alone in his stately home... As the men's stories unfold, the reality of the Siege, and the consequences of obsessive love swept up in the tide of history come vividly alive.
Sea Lavender stars Stephen Hagan, best-known for his role as the scheming Ryan Hathaway in the BBC hit series The Cut. Raised in Greenisland in County Antrim, Stephen made an acclaimed West End debut in the hit TONY and Olivier-nominated play End of the Rainbow, playing Judy Garland's much younger 5th and final husband Mickey Deans. He has just completed a season at the Royal Shakespeare Company and has worked with such illustrious directors as Terry Johnson, Trevor Nunn, Greg Doran and Peter Stein during what has been a rapid rise to be seen as one of the most exciting young actors of his generation.
