No Jury, No Prize Symposium Saturday 2nd November 2013 1.30pm.

Delighted by the response and participation in the first No Jury No Prize Exhibition, organisers welcome the public to participate in their upcoming the Symposium No Jury, No Prize.

The event is facilitated by Culture Company in collaboration with The London Street Gallery, the Playhouse Theatre and Glasgow School of Art, with support from Visual Arts Ireland, Art Take Part, NuPrint and The Public Health Agency.
The event will begin with presentations from Dr Ken Neil, writer and Head of Research at the Glasgow School of Art and Dr Francis McKee, tutor on the MFA in Fine Art at the school and Director of the CCA gallery in Glasgow. Glasgow of course won the 1990 European City of Culture and has established itself as a central location of creativity in Europe. Their insights on culture and legacy should hopefully prove informative as our city approaches the conclusion to its year as UK City of Culture.
Following the presentations, a debate will be held on fostering art, creativity and change through an open floor discussion with panel members drawn from the arts and cultural sector and all in attendance. It is hoped this will be a fruitful event where we can develop thinking on the future of art and change within the city. Following the 2 hour event there will be an opportunity to network and enjoy refreshments kindly provided by The Sandwich Company .
Organisers look forward to your participation in what promises to be an inspiring and unmissable event, dedicated to our artists and those interested in supporting the future profile and platform of visual arts in the City beyond 2013.
