Aisling Ghéar presents Makaronik by Dave Duggan Thursday 6th November 2014 8pm

A multi lingual science-fiction drama in Irish, English & Empirish.

It's the year 2084 in a world where 'The Empire'reigns supreme. Most European languages are forbidden. In Belfast, Makaronik, the last woman standing, has been instructed to wrap up her archive and send back all remnants of the Irish language for 'storage'.

Futuristic, yet rooted in an ancient tradition -think of Beckett's Endgame and Ridley Scott's Bladerunner, with just a hint of The Matrix.

Includes After -show discussion.

Dráma ficsean-eolaíochta ilteangach, as Gaeilge, as Bearla & Empirish.

An bhliain 2084 atá ann agus an domhan mór faoi cheannas iomlán ag ‘an Impireacht'. Tá cosc ar an chuid is mó de theangacha na hEorpa. Is í Makaronik bean dheireanach seasta an fhóid. I mBéal Feirste.

Ordaítear di deireadh a chur lena hobair chartlainne agus iarsmaí uilig na Gaeilge a sheoladh ar ais le go gcuirfear ‘i dtaisce' iad.Den todhchaí é Makaronik ach é fréamhaithe fosta i dtraidisiún ársa - smaoinigh ar Críoch-Chluiche Beckett, Bladerunner Ridley Scott le blaiseadh beag den Matrix.

Plé tar éis an tseó.
