Do you have a stage, screen or radio script with a lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender (LGBT) theme that you are working on? Or do you have part of a script? Would you like to see it acted out? Or would you like to try out some acting?
The LGBT THEATRE LAB is a place where writers of all levels can try out ideas in a safe and creative environment. It is a place to receive constructive feedback. This will be a fun, active ‘on the floor' event facilitated by Patricia Byrne, Artistic Director of Sole Purpose Productions and Lisa Fitzpatrick, Senior Lecturer in Theatre Studies at University of Ulster.
Recent productions developed through the LGBT Theatre Lab are Pits and Perverts by Micheál Kerrigan, which toured the UK last year to great critical acclaim and Life and Love: Lesbian Style by Hilary McCollum which won the Eva Gore Booth Award for Best Female Performance at the International Dublin Gay Theatre Festival 2014.
Send in an extract from the piece you are working on to Sole Purpose and we will copy them for distribution on the day. Send up to four typed pages in advance, including a five-line description of the piece. The deadline to send in your extract is Monday 16th February. If you are interested in participating in this workshop contact Sole Purpose Productions on 028 7127 9918 or email firstname.lastname@example.org www.solepurpose.org
