Travel with the crew on board the WWII submarine Ursula. Experience the fear and tension during attacks on German U-Boats, War Ships and Cargo Ships. Feel the terror while depth chargers explode and torpedoes come racing towards you.
HMS Ursula was a British U class submarine, the first group of that class. Ursula started the war operating in home waters. On 9 September 1939, she fired the first British submarine torpedoes of the war when attacking the German submarine U-35. The navigating officer of HMS Ursula was Richard Barklie Lakin who rose through the ranks to Lieutenant Commander, Lakin's final naval mission was to look after and subsequently scuttle the German U-Boats when they surrendered in Londonderry at the end of the war.
Following on from the success of ‘Gregory's A-maze-ing Brew Shop' at The Playhouse in June, ‘HMS Ursula' is the second play by this emerging local playwright.
