Born Co. Armagh, Northern Ireland, MOBO Award and Urban Music Award-nominated David Lyttle shifts seamlessly between the personas of jazz drummer, recording artist, songwriter, producer and record label owner. His latest album 'Faces' has commanded international attention since its release in March 2015, with Rolling Stone magazine USA describing it as 'one of the best, robust listening experiences you're likely to have all year'.
David has performed in over fifteen countries and collaborated with a range of music icons, including Joe Lovano, Soweto Kinch, Talib Kweli, Cleveland Watkiss, Jason Rebello and Duke Special. His jazz trio features young rising star British alto saxophonist Tom Harrison. Mentored by ex-Jazz Messenger Jean Toussaint, he has been described as 'one to watch' by Jazz Journal and 'fearsomely excellent' by All About Jazz.
Also featuring prominently is John Goldsby, bassist with the Westdeutscher Rundfunk (WDR) Big Band in Cologne, Germany, since 1994. Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, he was active on the New York scene from 1980 through 1994 and has worked with Tom Harrell, Michael Brecker, Barney Kessel and John Lewis. In addition to his numerous albums as a leader and sideman, he is a highly respected educator. He has written three books, including the hugely successful 'The Jazz Bass Book'.
