European Arts Company presents Chekhov's Shorts Saturday 16th April 2011 8pm

To mark the 150th anniversary of the birth of Anton Chekhov, European Arts Company present five short pieces that Anton Chekhov wrote before the full length plays, ‘The Evils of Tobacco', ‘The Dimwit', ‘The Bear', ‘Swansong' and ‘The Proposal', combining all of the tragi-comic elements of Chekhov's longer plays with the silliness of a sketch show.

This is Chekhov at his comic best, before Uncle Vanya started shooting, The Seagull got stuffed, The Three Sisters started moaning and The Cherry Orchard was ‘car-parked'.

‘Chekhov wasn't all doom and gloom...European Arts Company's production of ‘Chekhov's Shorts' is fast paced, witty and engaging.' - The Stage
